Karl F. Gumpper, R.Ph., BCPS, FASHP is the Director of the Section of Pharmacy Informatics and Technology at the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) in Bethesda, Maryland. He is responsible for working with pharmacist and pharmacy technicians implementing and maintaining technology and automation within hospitals and health systems. Prior to coming to ASHP, he served as Director of Pharmacy at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, DC where he worked with a multidisciplinary team to successfully implement computerized provider order entry (CPOE).
