Not only will there be one-of-a-kind educational venues, but also, our awards program event specifically designed to honor those HIMSS men and women who have contributed their talents in support of the HIMSS mission: “To lead healthcare transformation through the effective use of health information technology.”
These special contributions may vary widely due to the diverse HIMSS membership and broad definition of the healthcare professions represented. Additionally, sponsorship of these awards and nomination of recipients comes from components within HIMSS, and often, with collaboration from other allied professional societies, academia, and businesses.
With the call for 2012 award nominations now open, review the criteria for the various awards recognizing those individuals who have given back to the professions they work in and nurture every day. All HIMSS members can nominate those who have made lasting contributions within the Society and to the greater healthcare community. Call for nominations will close October 15, 2012.
