Day 2 Recap – HIMSS Virtual Conference & Expo

Attendees at Day 2 of the HIMSS Virtual Conference & Expo continued to have many opportunities for networking, engagement and education.

  • Exhibitors were welcoming attendees to their booths and providing product-specific information across a variety of solutions;
  • Live and on-demand education continued across multiple tracks; and the
  • Ever-popular lounge was brisk with activity.

And there was no shortage of nationally recognized experts speaking on topics like,

  • Meaningful Use for Multiple Users: An Interdisciplinary Approach to Computerized Provider Order Entry;
  • Provider and Clearinghouse Testing and Implementation Experiences with 5010; and
  • Standards and Interoperability: In a World Where Sharing Information Is Critical.

HIMSS also provided attendees with its own perspective on ACO Final Rule: A Health IT Perspective.

Attendees at the closing keynote address listened to Implementing HIT and Not Taking a ‘HIT’: Minimizing Unintended Consequences where Reed Gelzer, MD, MPH, CCHC, discussed ways that health IT professionals could reduce vulnerabilities when implementing and maintaining health IT.

If you missed a session or couldn’t visit an exhibitor, not to worry.  The virtual environment will be open through Feb. 4, 2012.  Come back often for exhibitor solutions, on-demand educational programming and to connect with others in the environment.

And don’t forget…CME and CNE (enduring credit), CPHIMS and PDUs will all be available in the virtual environment as well.
