Day One of the HIMSS Virtual Conference & Exhibition ended yesterday, Wednesday, Nov. 2, with the promise of more of the same for today, Day Two: exception networking, education, and collaboration activities for health IT professionals and others.
The event opened with CMS Director Rob Tagalicod addressing the emerging future state of connected healthcare. Rob inspired the audience and challenged each of us to become partners in the retransformation of CMS.
Next, multiple education sessions abounded across three tracks:
- Preparing Your Organization for the ICD-10/5010 Implementation;
- Meaningful Use Stage 1 and Beyond: Real World Case Studies; and
- Organizational Challenges Confronted: Lessons from the Trenches.
While breaks occurred between live education, many on-demand Industry Solutions sessions continued your educational offerings. And, if you missed something, or, are in need of additional CME, CNE, CPHIMS, or PDUs, the environment will be open through Feb. 2, 2012.
On the show floor, education continued with two levels of exhibitors armed with content to help you with your most pressing health IT needs. Even if you weren’t looking for a new employment opportunity, organizations were ready to speak with you about opportunities globally.
And what are my plans for today, Day Two, already in progress?
I’ll be visiting our exhibitors, listening to on-demand sessions, networking with you all in the Lounge, and…I’ll be encouraging each of you to take advantage of the many opportunities that a virtual conference provides.
So, won’t you join me on this journey to re-imagine a transformed healthcare industry that is truly possible through care coordination, clinical intelligence, and knowledge sharing? I truly hope so.
Join us or register for day 2 at HIMSS Virtual Conference & Expo.
