Impactful National Health IT Week Events

National Health IT Week is quickly approaching, and there is no better time to be in Washington, D.C than Sept. 12-16. Let me tell you about some valuable opportunities for you to be part of National Health IT Week.

Join us for the annual Health IT Technology Showcase and Panel Discussion, on Monday, Sept. 12, 10 a.m. – 3 p .m. (lunch, presentations and panel discussion at noon). We’re fortunate to be in the historic and stately Kennedy Caucus Room in the Russell Senate Office Building. The program includes remarks by members of Congress and Obama Administration leaders, a roundtable on “Implications of HIT for Patient Safety and Quality,” demonstrations of health IT technology, plus a special demonstration of “Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise.” Attendance is complimentary and open to the public, and lunch will be served!

Please visit the NHIT website, or contact me at asimmons@himss.org, for more information.

You are also invited to an exciting event sponsored by the HIMSS Diversity Business Roundtable on Wednesday, Sept. 14 at 1 p.m. EST at the Hyatt Regency Capitol Hill.
We welcome innovative thought leader Willie H. Davis, President of Davis Executive Associates, as our guest speaker. Mr. Davis now serves on the board of the National Capital Area Minority Business Opportunity Center and has been honored in Washington, D.C. and in Palm Springs, Calif. as “Entrepreneur of the Year.” We will also be inviting a member of the House Small Business Committee to come give brief remarks.
The HIMSS Diversity Business Roundtable is just over a year old and seeks to provide opportunities for minority-, women- and veteran-owned small businesses to collaborate, network and grow in the rapidly expanding health IT market.
