“Let Me Google That For You”

I know we all like to think of ourselves as fairly savvy when it comes to our profession of choice. As a marketing professional, I tend to think I can craft a message or design an ad campaign fairly well.

Of course, just when things are sailing smoothly, that confidence comes back to bite you. “Lauren, why did this marketing piece failed to return xx amount of registrants for xx event?”  <<Sinks low into chair>>

As a healthcare IT professional, you clearly have different challenges than someone in my position, but none the less when those challenges arise,  we all collectively think… “Man, do I know everything I should about this subject, how to get this done, how to make this change work for my department?”

And that’s where finding that continuing education comes into play. Last week, I was out in San Francisco for an eMarketing Conference. (Any blog readers in that region? What a beautiful part of the country.) The best part? There were SO many takeaways that I could immediately implement. Not just theory. Real, practical advice and ideas from leaders in the industry who know what they’re talking about.

I’ve been working closely with our education department on the upcoming Virtual Conference & Expo, June 8-9, and that’s been a real goal for us: to bring attendees education on the hottest topics—5010/ICD-10 and Meaningful Use—and more importantly, for the sessions to be incredibly relevant and actionable.

Do you need an educational boost? I know you’re out there. How? According to Google Keyword Tools,  368,000 searches on the term “icd 10” alone occur each month in the U.S. (That doesn’t include “icd10″ “icd-10″, etc.)

My suggestion?

Instead of trying to get educated on 5010, ICD-10, Meaningful Use by search and peck…try this solution:
