VCE Keynote Speaker Offers 10 Steps for Meaningful Use

Judy Murphy, RN FACMI, FHIMSS VP at Aurora Health Services in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and a member of the HIT Standards Committee is presenting right now. Her presentation is excellent. I’ve very briefly summarized her 10 key steps in this blog posting. For more detailed information on each of the steps, you can easily register for the Virtual Conference and access Judy’s presentation.  (1) understand the ARRA goals and MU criteria; (2) Estimate your incentive possibility – if you’re a hospital, you can visit the HIMSS website where you’ll find a calculator tool available to HIMSS members [just log-in to the Member Center]; (3) document your current state; (4) prepare a gap analysis; (5) plan for compliance; (6) build rigor in processes and infrastructure; (7) get ready – culture change ; (8) complete rollout across your organization; (9) demonstrate and measure results; and (10) Celebrate your successes.
